Getting ready for Christmas

We put up our Christmas tree this last week and started decorating the house. We waited until the girls were asleep before we put up the tree, but we saved the candy canes so Natalie could help hang them on the tree, when Natalie woke up the next morning and saw the tree she very excited, and she enjoyed hanging the candy canes. I've heard people say small children don't have very good memories, well Natalie has proven to us time and again that she does. One of our many decorations is a small Santa Clause that will sing Christmas songs if you squeez his tummy. Natalie had a lot of fun playing with him last Christmas and she didn't forget who he was. The morning after we set up the decorations, she saw the Santa Clause and told Yuhsuan to squeeze his tummy so he would sing. Yuhsuan was surprised she would remember that he would sing because she didn't tell Natalie or point him out to her.

With the big snowstorm on Saturday we were able to find out Natalie loves playing in the snow. Saturday afternoon I had to go to the store and I took Natalie with me, it had been a while since the parking lot had been plowed so there was a few inches of snow on the ground. She insisted on walking from the car to the store so I held her hand walked in front of her trying to clear a path for her to walk in. She decided she didn't want to walk in the path I had forged for her, she trudged through the snow parallel to my path the whole way. While we were walking to the store she saw a pile of snow...long story short, she sunk up to her knees. I was afraid she was going to cry, but she surprised me when she kept treading through the pile to the other side. Later Yuhsuan wanted to take some pictures of the snow and took Natalie out with her, all she wanted to do was run around in the snow. Afterwards we asked her if she was cold and she said, "No, I'm warm."

This last month Kanessa has started showing some of her own personality, she loves to smile. Lately she's been playing with the toys that hang over her bouncer, her favorite one is the sunflower. They have long conversations with each other, she'll hold it and smile at it and start laughing. She can always smile, even if she's hungry or tired, if you play with her for a minute she'll crack a big ole grin. One of her favorite things to do is to look up at you and smile when she's half way through a bottle and letting the milk just run out the sides of her mouth.

Natalie is still a great big sister, she loves Kanessa very much. She can't quite say 'Kanessa' yet so she calls her 'Nessa.' I think it's a good nickname , it just might stick. She likes playing with her and can't wait until she's old enough to play funner games.

Kanessa hit me!

Let me fix your hair before the picture

I love you little sister
